Gemkom Engineering and Machinery Filial is a newly established branch of the Turkish company Gemkom. It is a leading engineering and manufacturing company that operates in a number of areas and in various ways within the steel industry.

We are participating in a project where Stegra AB establishes a steel mill in Norra Svartbyn in Boden where steel will be produced through an almost fossil-free process using hydrogen gas. Our mission is, among other things, to install machines used in steel production and includes work in mechanics, electronics and plumbing.

Job Description

The Piping Foreman is responsible for supervising and directing piping installation, assembly, and maintenance activities on site. The role involves managing a team of piping fitters, coordinating daily work assignments, and ensuring that piping systems are installed according to engineering drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. The Piping Foreman ensures efficient workflow, proper resource utilization, and timely completion of project tasks.

Key Responsibilities

· Supervise and coordinate daily activities of piping crews, including piping fitters, helpers, and support personnel.

· Review and interpret engineering drawings, piping isometric drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

· Plan and assign work tasks to ensure efficient progress and completion of piping installation activities.

· Oversee the installation, assembly, and alignment of piping systems, valves, pumps, and related mechanical equipment.

· Ensure correct pipe routing, supports, fittings, and installation techniques in accordance with design requirements.

· Monitor work quality and ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and industry standards.

· Coordinate with welding teams, mechanical crews, engineers, and site supervisors to maintain smooth workflow and resolve technical issues.

· Conduct routine inspections of installed piping systems and identify any installation or safety issues.

· Ensure that all work activities comply with company safety policies, site procedures, and regulatory requirements.

· Track work progress, manpower allocation, and materials usage, and report updates to the supervisor or project management.

· Provide guidance, training, and technical support to piping crew members to maintain productivity and quality standards.

Qualifications

· Experience in piping installation, fabrication, and maintenance in industrial or construction environments is preferred.

· Experience as a Piping Fitter or Piping Team Leader, with supervisory experience preferred.

· Strong ability to read and interpret piping drawings, isometric drawings, and technical documentation.

· Knowledge of piping materials, fittings, valves, and installation procedures.

· Familiarity with construction site safety regulations and industry standards.
