Gemkom Engineering and Machinery Filial is a newly established branch of the Turkish company Gemkom. It is a leading engineering and manufacturing company that operates in a number of areas and in various ways within the steel industry.

We are participating in a project where Stegra AB establishes a steel mill in Norra Svartbyn in Boden where steel will be produced through an almost fossil-free process using hydrogen gas. Our mission is, among other things, to install machines used in steel production and includes work in mechanics, electronics and plumbing.

We now want to employ an Electrical Site Foreman. The work tasks may include but are not limited to:

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must hold a technical diploma or certificate in Electrical Installation, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
• Shall possess a minimum of 7 years of professional experience in electrical installation, supervision, or related site works, including at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
• Demonstrated experience in industrial or large-scale construction projects of similar nature and scope.
• Must be proficient in written and verbal English sufficient for site communication and documentation.
• Shall be capable and willing to reside in Boden or Luleå during the execution of the project.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications is required.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and the ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics is preferred.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Electrical Site Foreman shall be responsible for the coordination, supervision, and execution of all electrical site activities within the assigned scope, under the direction of the Electrical Engineer and Project Management. The primary duties shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

• Supervising and coordinating the daily activities of site electricians, subcontractors, and related personnel to ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with project specifications, standards, and approved drawings.
• Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project schedules during the execution of electrical works.
• Conducting daily inspections of ongoing electrical activities and ensuring proper workmanship, materials, and installation methods are employed.
• Monitoring labour productivity and preparing daily and weekly progress reports for submission to superiors and the technical office.
• Reviewing and verifying the quality and conformity of materials prior to and during installation.
• Assisting in the coordination of materials, tools, and equipment to ensure timely and uninterrupted workflow.
• Enforcing compliance with method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and quality control procedures for all electrical works.
• Recording and reporting any non-conformities or deviations from approved standards and procedures to the responsible engineer.
• Overseeing and approving the completion of electrical installations prior to testing and commissioning phases.
• Supporting the preparation and verification of subcontractors’ progress reports and payment quantities in coordination with the site engineer.
• Ensuring that all personnel under supervision strictly adhere to occupational health and safety regulations and project-specific safety requirements.
